Got a camera, 15 minutes and the crafty-mama bug? Save bucks and give family and friends gifts they'll ooh and aah over.
"Finally Bedtime" Mug
Who's it for? Mom and/or Dad (or make a pair for the proud parents)
What’s the idea? For the parents' nightly cup of tea, a mug featuring Baby’s sleeping face and some indispensible sleep aids.
How do I make it? • Take, or find, a photograph of Baby fast asleep.
• For an up-to-the-minute look, use your camera's black-and-white setting and zoom in for a close-up. Or use your basic photo software afterward to transform your color image into a black-and-white one.
•
Upload the image to your Gallery and drag and drop it on to the
black ceramic mug.
• Zoom in on the image and place it so that your baby’s face is at the center, with a border on the sides.
How do I gift it? Wrap it with a box of calming chamomile tea bags and a small jar of honey.
Holiday Thank-You MugWho's it for? A “thank you” for your favorite helper, be it the neighborhood babysitter, a family friend, your sister or Grandma
What’s the idea? A candy-filled photo mug.
How do I make it? • Select an image of the baby that will be meaningful to the recipient: maybe a picture of the baby wearing an outfit or playing with a toy that this person gave them, or one of the recipient and the baby together. Or use the baby's Newborn Portrait!
• Think about the colors in your photo - try to shoot or find one that will make the candy colors pop!
•
Upload the image to a Gallery and drag and drop it to any
Mug in Our Shop.
How do I gift it? Fill the mug with a mound of colorful candies; then tie with a big red ribbon.
Baby Collage Memo BoardWho's it for? Grandma and Grandpa
What’s the idea? Use a magnetic memo board to create a collage.
How do I make it? • Snap and
upload colorful images of your baby and sibs to a Gallery, or use images that you've already uploaded. Select a mix of
square and
rectangular magnets.
• Drag and drop close-up photos of Baby’s face to the square magnets, and larger-scale photos to the bigger, rectangular sizes.
• Collect a few photo prints (your wallet-size Newborn Portrait among them), a copy of the baby's birth announcement, and any other small mementos, and use the magnets to attach them to the magnetic board (these are available at office supply stores and retailers like Target).
How do I gift it? Slip the collage into a padded manila envelope, attach holiday stickers and mail it! Grandma and Grandpa can keep adding to the collage as time goes on.
Generations PrintWho's it for? The grandparents, your sib or other family members
What’s the idea? Turn a portrait of three generations into lasting art.
How do I make it? • Select or take a photo of grandparent, parent and child - three "women" or three guys.
• If you're starting from scratch, stage a horizontally formatted shot of a parent and grandparent sitting while holding the little one. (You can be in the picture if your camera has an auto setting or you find someone to hold the camera.)
•
Upload the shot to a Gallery, then drag and drop to a canvas - choose either a
gallery-wrapped or rolled canvas.
• Use the Customizer's photo tool to zoom in, leaving an even border around the perimeter.
How do I gift it? For a straight-from-the-gallery look, wrap the canvas in brown Kraft paper and tie with white string. To make a homemade card, write a note on the back of a copy of the photograph you used to create the print, use a hole punch to make a hole in one corner, and tie it to the package with the string.
"Going To Grandma’s" BagWho's it for? Your frequent babysitter - Grandma!
What’s the idea? Has Grandma become your go-to caregiver? Give her a tote decorated with a photo of the two of them and filled with essentials.
How do I make it? • Select a brightly colored, horizontal photograph of your child with Grandma, or take one.
•
Upload the image to a Gallery, and drag and drop it to a durable
canvas tote - select red, blue or black handles to go with the photo. Use the Customizer's photo tool to zoom in on the image, editing out background until the photo is tightly framed around the two of them.
How do I gift it?•Add things to the bag that Grandma will need (and like) when watching your child, like a spare bottle and a few toys, plus a couple of special (sweet?) treats for her.
