Your week ahead with your baby

This week brings two important events to our sky. On November 4, Neptune goes direct—meaning forward rather than backward—which encourages all of us to take stock of our hopes and wishes. Under this transit, our imaginations will be ignited with curiosity and genius, and dreams really can come true! Adding to this shift in consciousness is a move by Venus into passionate Scorpio on November 7. Jealousies could be at their peak during this transit, but so will the capacity to feel and express deep feelings of love. Read on to learn how your baby will experience these transits.

Your Gemini baby this week

Open, honest Gemini will enjoy this week’s planetary changes; and after last week’s secretive atmosphere and highly charged emotional undercurrents, Neptune going direct will be a breath of fresh air—for both of you. Your little one’s sleep patterns may also settle down as the feeling at the night becomes calm and predictable. Venus visiting sultry Scorpio isn’t an ideal astrological pairing for airy Gemini, but your baby can use the intense energy that results to explore what he might normally gloss over. Don’t be surprised to find him staring endlessly at his fingers and toes—he’s doing a lot of important investigating and thinking. Gemini toddlers will also become more discerning and ask more investigative questions, which could surprise you. Since you’ll be learning together, a trip to the library is your best bet.

Your Gemini baby in 2009

This is a year of electric energy for baby Gemini! Already infused with mercurial lightness, expect your baby to take her development rapidly to the next level. Her language will be shockingly developed and sophisticated – make sure you don’t discuss private matters in front of this extremely tuned-in and curious baby. Keep her focused with lots of books and activities – her mind needs constant stimulation. If she’s starting a new preschool or child-care situation this year, expect some resistance to separating from you. Help ease the transition with lots of open communication about the changes coming up: talking, talking and more talking is how to ease Gemini tension throughout the year.
